HOLDERS of the TORCH MENTORING

​

OBJECTIVES

​​

  • To prepare for life after high school

  • To educate youth about the necessary life skills that will enable them to become future leaders in Church and society.

 

We will accomplish these objectives by:

 

  • Conducting monthly programs to teach youth a different life skill or life experience

  • Putting youth into groups which will provide an element of teamwork and accountability

  • Assigning youth with mentors who will be an additional resource for information

                     

Roles and Responsibilities:

 

  • To develop positive relationships with mentees

  • To gain experience which will prove useful in other areas of life.

  • To communicate the mentor’s life experiences and insights to mentees.

  • To develop a network of support for mentees

  • To attend and actively participate in monthly worship services

  • To attend monthly sessions and participate with mentees

  • To have fun

 

Roles and Responsibilities of Mentees:

 

  • To develop a positive relationship with mentor

  • To set and achieve personal and spiritual goals

  • To develop self-respect, self-esteem, and responsible behavior

  • To develop confidence and competence in academic, professional, social, and biblical skills

  • To make positive decisions about the future

  • To attend and actively participate in monthly worship services

  • To attend monthly sessions and participate with mentors

  • To have fun
