Holders of the Torch Mentoring

Holders of the Torch Mentoring connects mature believers with the next generation, passing on faith, wisdom, and life skills the same way one generation has always lit the way for the next.
Mentors and mentees meet to build genuine relationships rooted in encouragement, accountability, and the Word of God, preparing young people to one day carry the light forward themselves.
Objectives
- To prepare for life after high school
- To educate youth about the necessary life skills that will enable them to become future leaders in Church and society.
We will accomplish these objectives by:
- Conducting monthly programs to teach youth a different life skill or life experience
- Putting youth into groups which will provide an element of teamwork and accountability
- Assigning youth with mentors who will be an additional resource for information
Roles and Responsibilities
- To develop positive relationships with mentees
- To gain experience which will prove useful in other areas of life.
- To communicate the mentor's life experiences and insights to mentees.
- To develop a network of support for mentees
- To attend and actively participate in monthly worship services
- To attend monthly sessions and participate with mentees
- To have fun
Roles and Responsibilities of Mentees
- To develop a positive relationship with mentor
- To set and achieve personal and spiritual goals
- To develop self-respect, self-esteem, and responsible behavior
- To develop confidence and competence in academic, professional, social, and biblical skills
- To make positive decisions about the future
- To attend and actively participate in monthly worship services
- To attend monthly sessions and participate with mentors
- To have fun
